I love reading, it’s the reason I started my blog and buy so many books! But I’ve only read two books this year, two books since October. I’ve been stuck in a reading slump of epic proportions. I honestly could not say why I haven’t really been reading, I have been busy, but not continually so for that whole period of time. I’ve maintained an interest in books and releases during the slump, but I haven’t been able to pick up a book.
I don’t know about you, but I was once a huge fan of Paranormal books. I fantasised about a fallen angel swooping in, acting all mysterious, and bringing me into a world of angels, were-creatures and demons. Now, this was a fair few years ago, round about the time I read Twilight, which was the start of it all. When I’m picking out books now I never even glance towards the Paranormal section, Fantasy and Contemporary have taken a hold of my heart, although I have learned quite a bit from my Paranormal past!
This is not my first Taught Me post, my first was What Twilight Taught Me which you can read here, and was pretty popular! My other Taught Me posts are the Hunger Games and Dystopian, so go ahead and read them to see what else books have taught me! And feel free to comment and share what they’ve taught you too!
The Difference Between Us is the second book in Rachel Higginson’s Opposites Attract Series, the first book being The Opposite of You, which I highly recommend! I’m so excited to be revealing the cover for The Difference Between Us and to share with you the blurb for this book!
At least when it comes to finding Mr. Right.
I’m tired of men that only want one night stands or blind dates that are nothing but awkward and uncomfortable. I’m tired of avoiding inappropriate text messages and the constant disappointment of always meeting Mr. Wrong.
After all these years of dates that lead nowhere, I can admit that it’s me. I’m the problem. I’m shy and picky and cursed. Definitely cursed.
So I’ve decided two things.
The first? I’m giving up dating and relationships and men in general. Maybe, possibly, forever.
The second? I’m going to have to try harder to avoid Ezra Baptiste.
If I couldn’t hack it in the kiddy pool of dating, I certainly can’t swim in his deep end. He’s too successful. Too intense. He’s all man when I’m used to nothing but boys pretending to be grownups. He’s everything I’m afraid to want and so far out of my league we might as well be different species entirely.
So he’ll need to find a different artist to paint his mural. And a different graphic designer to help him with his website. He’ll need to find someone else to glare at and flirt with and kiss.
It can’t be me.
We’re too different.
This book sounds just as amazing as the first and I cannot wait for it to be released on July 25th!
This beautiful book is released today!
I spoke about this book in a Wishlist Wednesday post in February, which you can read here. I explained why I was so excited to read The Opposite of You in this post, and today you can grab your hands on it and start reading! I was fortunate enough to be sent an ARC by Rachel for review, and I’m currently reading and really enjoying the book! Expect a review soon!
Life recently has been really busy, I’ve been working on assignments and dissertation, and to top it off hunting for jobs, because my time at uni is nearly up. All of this has meant that I’ve had practically no time to read, and I’ve caught myself on more than one occasion longing to have a book in my hands. Being busy with all this work hasn’t stopped my book buying though! But this is probably just adding to my dilemma, because I know that I have so many wonderful books waiting for me to read. I’ve created a list of all the books I wish I could be reading right now, and as soon as I get some free time I will be diving into these books! Continue reading “What I Wish I Was Reading”
