My Christmas Book Wishlist | Wishlist Wednesday

I, like many other booklovers, have more than one book on my Christmas wish list. Of course I also have quite a few items that I would love Santa to bring me that aren’t books at all, but I do have a list of books that I would really love for Christmas this year. The books that have made it onto this list are books that I wouldn’t particularly buy for myself for one reason or another, but do really want. I in no way expect all of these books for Christmas, it’s simply a list of books that I have never got around to buying for myself,  although I may end up gifting myself a book or two!

The first book is the illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, I got Philosopher’s Stone for Christmas last year so I’d love to continue on the tradition and add the second illustrated book to my collection!

Next up I would love one of the Penguin Classic editions of Jane Austen’s books. I’ve mentioned these editions more than once before, but they’re beautiful and not the kind of thing that I would buy for myself! So one of them would be the perfect Christmas treat, and as Pride and Prejudice is one of my all time favourite books, I’d have to say that’s the one that I’d love to have a spot on my bookcase.

This book is a little on the pricey for Amazon side of things, which is honestly the big reason that I’ve put off buying it for myself. Again I’ve spoke about this book before and really love the sound of it, but over a tenner for a book? I don’t think I could justify spending that on a book for myself!

This books sounds so cool! My sister has a slight love for Russia due to her history course, and from being constantly told about it, when I saw that The Crown’s Game is set in Tsarist Russia I knew it had to be. As with Blackmoore I feel that this book is slightly pricey at just over £12 on Amazon, so again I’m not able to fully justify buying it for myself.
If you have any recommendations for books you think I should invest in then please let me know in the comments!

Wishlist Wednesday | #3

A few months ago I posted my second Wishlist Wednesday, you can read both of my two previous posts here and here.
This list is a rundown of some bookish (and maybe even non-bookish) related items that I’m coveting at the moment!

In my last wishlist post I mentioned that I wanted to kick start my Pop Vinyl collection with the Loki figure, while that never happened, I do in fact have two Pop figures!

My lovely lovely boyf got me the Chewbacca figure (bobble head!!!!) for Valentine’s Day, because, well, he knows me!
Chewy is definitely my favourite Star Wars character and I love him so so much!
Inspired by the start of my collection I justified the purchase of Snape through teaching book reviews on World Book Day, and using my illustrated Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone as a teaching tool!
Now that I’ve got two Pop figures I’m keen to keep on getting more! I’d love to get the Loki, but I really have my heart set on He Who Shall Not Be Named!
I’ve made no attempt to hide my love for Jane Austen and all things Pride and Prejudice, so when I saw the gorgeous copy of Persuasion in Regan from PeruseProject‘s video I fell for the cover! I’ve been wanting pretty copies of my favourite Jane Austen books for a while now, and I think I’ve finally found the editions for me!
Vintage Classic Austen Series
A slightly less bookish item that I’ve had my eye on is this beautiful Daniel Wellington watch
I think it’s absolutely stunning, and a really timeless watch that could be worn with anything!
What’s on your wishlist this Wednesday? Let me know in the comments!

Monthly Wrap Up | March 2016

I only managed to read one book between the months of January and February, something I shared in my February Wrap Up. The reading slump continued long through March, and then with the arrival of the Easter weekend I dusted off two whole books! This might not seem like much, but these two books saw the end of an over two month reading slump! I’m now on my Easter break and you know I’ll be picking up book after book!

I don’t have reviews up for either of these two books yet, but expect reviews on them both in April!

What I Read

In Real Life by Jessica Love
The Winner’s Kiss by Marie Rutkoski

Currently Reading

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
As I mentioned in last month’s Wrap Up, I started reading Pride and Prejudice as a means to end the slump, while that was working, my life got really busy and stressful, so I had to put P+P down. Now that I am back reading again I will definitely be finishing of the final half of Pride and Prejudice, once I finish re-reading Fangirl! And can I just say, I’m loving Fangirl even more the second time round! I feel that I relate to Cath incredibly, with her shyness, romantic boy life, and love of reading. As I’m reading I keep pausing and thinking “Hey, that’s totally me!”
What books have you read during March? Let me know in the comments!

Monthly Wrap Up | February 2016

This is my first Wrap Up of the year because I’m ashamed to say that I didn’t finish any books in January, sure I got halfway through My Heart and Other Black Holes, and I’ve enjoyed what I have read, but I seem to be in a never ending reading slump. So far this year I have finished one book, and the only real reason I picked up that book to read is for review purposes. I don’t know what’s wrong with my reading self at the moment, but I want it to stop!

As always click the picture to read my review!

What I Read

Sweet Liar by Debra Doxer

Currently Reading

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Reading Pride and Prejudice at least once a year is a given, it’s one of my favourite books of all time, and sometimes you just need a bit of Mr Darcy in your life!! I was honestly craving Pride and Prejudice so I had to grab it off my (beautiful new) bookcase. When I properly break this reading slump I’ll continue reading My Heart and Other Black Holes because I was really enjoying it!

What books have you read during the start of 2016? Let me know in the comments!

The Three Books I’d Save In A Fire | Feature and Follow Friday

Feature and Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee’s View and Alison Can Read. It’s all about increasing followers and making new friends! If you want to take part just answer the question and add your post to the link, follow the hosts and featured blogs, and hop from blog to blog!

This Week’s Question:

Your house is burning down and you have time to select three books you own to take with you. Which three books?

Room by Emma Donoghue

This book was a Birthday present from my Dad and a book I truly love. It’s definitely got mature themes in it, and I wouldn’t consider it a light read to pass time. This is a book that requires time and emotional involvement. I couldn’t recommend it enough, but be prepared for heartbreak.
Also, it’s a hardback, so you know, that’s just a hundred times better than any paperback ever.
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

This is probably my all time favourite romance novel, and I couldn’t live without it in my life. It’s the ultimate romance, a definite classic. It’s the kind of book that you can pick up at any time and still love it. Sure, it’s on my Kindle, but a physical copy of Pride and Prejudice just feels so right.
The It Girl by Cecily von Ziegesar

I’ve read this book too many times to count, it’s got a well earned place in my heart. The It Girl was probably the first YA book that I ever read, and I fell in love instantly. I suppose you could say it was my gateway novel into the unknown (and incredible) world of YA. I’ve never looked back.
Kindle

Okay, so this is a cheeky fourth. The question says books, but my Kindle is home to the majority of my books, so it only makes sense that I’d take my book storage with me. Plus it’s got The Winner’s Curse and Red Queen on, and I couldn’t part with them! If I had physical copies of those two books they’d definitely be on the list!
Also, my cat is quite fond of it and seems to sit on/with it a lot.

They’re the three books (and Kindle) that I’d save in a fire. Which books earned the right to be your chosen three? Let me know what you picked in the comments!
