What I Wish I Was Reading

Life recently has been really busy, I’ve been working on assignments and dissertation, and to top it off hunting for jobs, because my time at uni is nearly up. All of this has meant that I’ve had practically no time to read, and I’ve caught myself on more than one occasion longing to have a book in my hands. Being busy with all this work hasn’t stopped my book buying though! But this is probably just adding to my dilemma, because I know that I have so many wonderful books waiting for me to read. I’ve created a list of all the books I wish I could be reading right now, and as soon as I get some free time I will be diving into these books! Continue reading “What I Wish I Was Reading”

What I’m Planning To Read This Christmas

I have not sat down and read a book in the longest time, I got Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them on release day and it’s still just sitting on my bookcase. In fact, I’ve had quite a few new books recently that I’m really excited to read but I just have not felt like reading, which has not been helped by the fact I’ve been incredibly busy these past two months. I had to make the very sad decision to lower my Goodreads Reading Goal once again, because there was simply no way I was going to manage to read 75 books by the end of December, considering that to this day I have only read 35.
But my Christmas break is right around the corner, and so help me God I will be reading, although my break is looking like it’s shaping up to be pretty busy too! This list is for myself as much as it is a sharing of what I’m going to read with all of my fellow bookworms. The way I see it, if I put it in a list, on the internet no less, then I am definitely more likely to get (at least some of) these books read! I would also absolutely love for you to share with me what you’re planning on reading this Christmas, I love nothing more than finding new books that people recommend and adding them to my wish list! So please share what you’re wanting to read, whether that be writing the books in a comment, or adding a link to your own post in the comments!

I want Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them to be a book that I just sit down and read in as close to one sitting as possible. So although my copy arrived on publication day I’ve put off reading it until I’ll be able to blitz it. I’m excited to read and watch this, and see what I think of the American wizzarding world.

I’ve been anticipating this book for quite a while, and it’s been sat on my bookcase for too long. I am excited to read this book, but as I said, I’ve been really busy lately and not had much time to read at all. I’m looking forward to reading this book, hopefully with chocolate, next to the fire with my doggy curled up next to me.

I have owned this book for an embarrassingly long time considering it has quite simply spent it’s time looking pretty on my shelf. I’ve heard amazing things about this and I want to read it, the amount of time I’ve had it suggests I need to read it!

Sometimes I just want a New Adult novel to enjoy, Smut is the book I’ll be picking up when I’m craving New Adult. I heard about this book on booktube and have since downloaded it on my Kindle, hopefully it’ll be a quicker read and will up my 2016 reading total!

That’s a list of the main books I’m hoping to read over Christmas. I hope to be reading these along with a few other books too! As I have already mentioned I would love to know what books you’re hoping to read this holiday period, so please let me know in the comments!

Books For My Holiday | 2016

I’ve been storing up my Kindle books for my holiday. While I love reading physical books, they’re not the most practical when packing for a flight. Of course I’ll be taking some with me, but I’ve stocked up my Kindle to ensure lots of reading material and a bag that meets the 20kg baggage allowance!

The Kindle Books:

These are some of the books on my Kindle that I’m really looking forward to reading!

As for real books I’ve kept it relatively light with these four books:

These are all books that I’ve heard good things about so I’me excited to read them!
If you have any recommendations, especially for New Adult books, that you think I should read while I’m away then please let me know!

Wishlist Wednesday | Books I Want For Summer

While I’ve got plenty of books sorted that I’m taking away with me and will be reading poolside, there’s some physical books that I’d love to own and take with me. So this Wishlist Wednesday is a bookish themed holiday post!
To see all my past Wishlist Wednesday posts and find out what it’s all about, head over to this page which explains a little more about it!
There are quite a few books that I want to read and that are sitting on my Amazon wishlist, but for the purpose of this post I’ve narrowed them down to books I really want to read soon!

The Books:

The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson – £4

Although I’ve recently been loving fantasy novels, this YA contemporary sounds right up my street, and I think it would be perfect to read by the pool!

The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen – £5.99

I’m in a really fantasy place at the moment and this book is really appealing to my current reading state of mind.

The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas – £5.59

I’m up to date with the Throne of Glass novels, so now all that’s left until September 6th is to read The Assassin’s Blade!

Asking For It by Louise O’Neill – £9.09

I adored Louise O’Neill’s Only Ever Yours, and I’ve seen a lot about this book online and in the media. Not only that, but this YA book has now also been republished as an adult novel.

Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone – £12.22

I saw someone speak about this book on booktube and as soon as I saw the description I knew that this is a book that I really want to read!!

Blackmoore by Julianne Donaldson – £10.49

Regan from Peruse Project raved about this book quite a bit and I looked it up and it really appealed to me! But I’m not going to lie, the £10 price tag for a paperback has put me off purchasing it just yet!

Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton – £3.85

This is a book that I’ve seen and heard quite a lot about in the bookish world and it caught my interest. This book is part of Amazon’s current buy three selected paperbacks for £10 offer, which obviously makes it a bit more inviting!

What books do you wish you had for this summer (or winter for all those on the other side of the world!) Let me know in the comments!

I’m planning on doing a few summer related posts, so if you have any post ideas you’d like to see then please let me know!
