Wishlist Wednesday | The Opposite of You by Rachel Higginson

This week’s Wishlist Wednesday post is spotlighting one book, I have a load of Pop’s and no real room for more, I have a lot of books that I need to read so I’m not buying anymore until I read a couple I already have, and there’s nothing I’m really after aside from more space for bookcases, but that’s something that I can magic myself. If you want to see my previous Wishlist Wednesday posts then head over to the page dedicated to them which has a rundown of my posts and a little explanation about Wishlist Wednesday.

My Christmas Book Wishlist | Wishlist Wednesday

I, like many other booklovers, have more than one book on my Christmas wish list. Of course I also have quite a few items that I would love Santa to bring me that aren’t books at all, but I do have a list of books that I would really love for Christmas this year. The books that have made it onto this list are books that I wouldn’t particularly buy for myself for one reason or another, but do really want. I in no way expect all of these books for Christmas, it’s simply a list of books that I have never got around to buying for myself,  although I may end up gifting myself a book or two!

The first book is the illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, I got Philosopher’s Stone for Christmas last year so I’d love to continue on the tradition and add the second illustrated book to my collection!

Next up I would love one of the Penguin Classic editions of Jane Austen’s books. I’ve mentioned these editions more than once before, but they’re beautiful and not the kind of thing that I would buy for myself! So one of them would be the perfect Christmas treat, and as Pride and Prejudice is one of my all time favourite books, I’d have to say that’s the one that I’d love to have a spot on my bookcase.

This book is a little on the pricey for Amazon side of things, which is honestly the big reason that I’ve put off buying it for myself. Again I’ve spoke about this book before and really love the sound of it, but over a tenner for a book? I don’t think I could justify spending that on a book for myself!

This books sounds so cool! My sister has a slight love for Russia due to her history course, and from being constantly told about it, when I saw that The Crown’s Game is set in Tsarist Russia I knew it had to be. As with Blackmoore I feel that this book is slightly pricey at just over £12 on Amazon, so again I’m not able to fully justify buying it for myself.
If you have any recommendations for books you think I should invest in then please let me know in the comments!

Wishlist Wednesday | #6

Once a month I aim to share with you books or bookish items that have made their way onto my wishlist! This is my sixth Wishlist Wednesday post, and to see all of my previous posts then head over to this page.

I have recently been loving spending time on Instagram and exploring the beautiful bookish feeds. I saw some really cool mugs and cushions and discovered they were all from Bookworm Boutique! So of course I headed over to the Society 6 page to check everything out! I then proceeded to send my boyfriend an overwhelming amount of links! Needless to say I really liked a lot of things! I’ve shortlisted a few of the items that I really loved, because if I were to show everything I liked we’d be here for a while!
(Click the picture for link to the item)

Mugs – $15

Throw Pillows – $20
I’ve included the wonderful bookmarks created by My Bookmark in a previous Wishlist Wednesday post, however they’ve announced a new collection which have taken my heart! If you’ve seen my recent Pokémon Go Book Tag post you’ll know that I’ve been playing and really enjoying Pokémon Go. So isn’t it only natural that these two world should collide to create amazing Pokémon bookmarks?! Sign me up!
My list this month is short and sweet! I’ve recently been introduced into the world of the adult colouring book, and after experimenting on a couple of pages I’ve discovered it’s something I really enjoy, especially while watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix! I think that having a bit of a larger colour selection within my crayons would make for a really fun colouring experience, so that’s right crayons are on my wishlist!
So that is August’s Wishlist Wednesday post complete!! I would love to know which items you have been wishing for this month! Let me know in the comments!

Wishlist Wednesday | Books I Want For Summer

While I’ve got plenty of books sorted that I’m taking away with me and will be reading poolside, there’s some physical books that I’d love to own and take with me. So this Wishlist Wednesday is a bookish themed holiday post!
To see all my past Wishlist Wednesday posts and find out what it’s all about, head over to this page which explains a little more about it!
There are quite a few books that I want to read and that are sitting on my Amazon wishlist, but for the purpose of this post I’ve narrowed them down to books I really want to read soon!

The Books:

The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson – £4

Although I’ve recently been loving fantasy novels, this YA contemporary sounds right up my street, and I think it would be perfect to read by the pool!

The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen – £5.99

I’m in a really fantasy place at the moment and this book is really appealing to my current reading state of mind.

The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas – £5.59

I’m up to date with the Throne of Glass novels, so now all that’s left until September 6th is to read The Assassin’s Blade!

Asking For It by Louise O’Neill – £9.09

I adored Louise O’Neill’s Only Ever Yours, and I’ve seen a lot about this book online and in the media. Not only that, but this YA book has now also been republished as an adult novel.

Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone – £12.22

I saw someone speak about this book on booktube and as soon as I saw the description I knew that this is a book that I really want to read!!

Blackmoore by Julianne Donaldson – £10.49

Regan from Peruse Project raved about this book quite a bit and I looked it up and it really appealed to me! But I’m not going to lie, the £10 price tag for a paperback has put me off purchasing it just yet!

Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton – £3.85

This is a book that I’ve seen and heard quite a lot about in the bookish world and it caught my interest. This book is part of Amazon’s current buy three selected paperbacks for £10 offer, which obviously makes it a bit more inviting!

What books do you wish you had for this summer (or winter for all those on the other side of the world!) Let me know in the comments!

I’m planning on doing a few summer related posts, so if you have any post ideas you’d like to see then please let me know!

Wishlist Wednesday | #4

This is my fourth Wishlist Wednesday post! I’ve created a page which explains a little bit more about Wishlist Wednesday, and contains links to my old Wishlist Wednesday posts!
This month’s Wishlist Wednesday includes quite a few literary items, and maybe even one or two completely non-bookish items that I just really really want!!
In my last two Wishlist posts I’ve mentioned that I want to build my collection of Pop Vinyl figures. My collection was started with a Valentine’s gift of Chewbacca, I then bought myself Snape I couldn’t help myself. In my last post I included the Voldy Pop, and what do you know, the boyfriend surprised me with him!! I now have three Pop Vinyl figures and I think they look so incredible on my bookcase!
These are all photos taken from my Instagram (@alxandraflorence_) so make sure you head on over if you like bookstagram accounts!
The next set of Pop Vinyl figures I have my eyes on are, of course Loki, but also these three!!
I’m sorry but how incredible are they?! The Sherlock Pop is two wonderful worlds colliding! Benedict as both Sherlock and Hamlet, and as a slight Hamlet geek how am I supposed to resist?!
Time for a bookish confession; I’ve never read a Rick Riordan book. Percy Jackson has been on my TBR for the longest time, but I just haven’t got round to reading it yet! Not reading any of Rick Riordan’s previous books hasn’t stopped my interest in his latest release, The Trials of Apollo. I’ve put off buying this book because, well student life, but man do I want to read it!!

The Trials of Apollo: The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan (Hardcover) – £6.49

The next book on my wishlist hasn’t actually been released yet, but I’ve seen loads of booktubers showing it in their BEA and Book Con hauls, and what can I say? It caught my attention!
The book I’m talking about is Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake. The sounds really interesting and right up my street! I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

Release Date: September 20th, 2016

I’m pretty certain absolutely everyone in the bookish community knows of these bookmarks, I mean they’re pretty darn fabulous!

While I love all of My Bookmark‘s bookmarks, my two favourites are the Harry Potter bookmark, and the mermaid tale bookmark!

For a while now I’ve been thinking about getting some fairy lights for my bookcase. I’ve seen lots of beautiful bookcases that have been topped with a string of fairy lights on Instagram, and I’m now 100% that I want some more fairy lights of my own! I’ve not found the perfect lights just yet, but I do think these from Amazon are quite cute!

Wow that was quite a long Wishlist Wednesday post!! Make sure you let me know what you are wishing for this Wednesday!

Wishlist Wednesday | #3

A few months ago I posted my second Wishlist Wednesday, you can read both of my two previous posts here and here.
This list is a rundown of some bookish (and maybe even non-bookish) related items that I’m coveting at the moment!

In my last wishlist post I mentioned that I wanted to kick start my Pop Vinyl collection with the Loki figure, while that never happened, I do in fact have two Pop figures!

My lovely lovely boyf got me the Chewbacca figure (bobble head!!!!) for Valentine’s Day, because, well, he knows me!
Chewy is definitely my favourite Star Wars character and I love him so so much!
Inspired by the start of my collection I justified the purchase of Snape through teaching book reviews on World Book Day, and using my illustrated Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone as a teaching tool!
Now that I’ve got two Pop figures I’m keen to keep on getting more! I’d love to get the Loki, but I really have my heart set on He Who Shall Not Be Named!
I’ve made no attempt to hide my love for Jane Austen and all things Pride and Prejudice, so when I saw the gorgeous copy of Persuasion in Regan from PeruseProject‘s video I fell for the cover! I’ve been wanting pretty copies of my favourite Jane Austen books for a while now, and I think I’ve finally found the editions for me!
Vintage Classic Austen Series
A slightly less bookish item that I’ve had my eye on is this beautiful Daniel Wellington watch
I think it’s absolutely stunning, and a really timeless watch that could be worn with anything!
What’s on your wishlist this Wednesday? Let me know in the comments!

Wishlist Wednesday | #2

I did a Wishlist Wednesday post a few months back now, which you can read here, and I thought I’d create another one.
So here are the things that are on my wishlist!

I’ve been after this book for ages now, but it’s an expensive Kindle purchase that I’m not sure I’m ready to make. The synopsis sounds so intriguing, really fun, and definitely up my street! Hopefully I’ll be reading this sooner rather than later.
Sophomore Year Is Greek To Me by Meredith Zeitlin

A more organised or bigger bookcase

My bookshelf is pretty organised, and I guess you could say I pride myself on that. But the thing is it’s starting to overflow. It’s becoming a serious problem and I think a bigger bookcase may be on the cards in the near future. Oh the life of a book blogger.
I have the coolest (if I say so myself) little rabbit things on the top of my bookshelf, along with my fake Oscar and Smurf collection.

I also have a slight love for Loki, as you may remember from my last post. And I thought it would be brilliant to tie the two things together
Is that not the cutest thing?! I’ve fallen for it and now I want it!
What’s on your wishlist this Wednesday? Let me know in the comments!
